"My partner and I joined Bade and his crew for a 7 day Alps Tour in Japan in 2019. We’ve both been road cycling for 10+ years both within Australia and overseas and it was honestly one of the best experiences on the bike we’ve ever had. Climbing Mt Fuji by bike, experiencing a foot onsen and sleeping on tatami mats are among many experiences that we will forever be grateful for.
Everything was organised for us so there was no stress and we could enjoy our holiday. The accommodation booked was great with a mix of luxury and traditional style Japanese and the cuisine was amazing. Bade and his team are down to earth, knowledgeable of the local area and very professional at all times. I cannot recommend Bade and his team highly enough, you won’t be disappointed and will have life long memories!"
"We travelled with Bade and Connect Sport on one of the Japan Alp to Coast tours in 2019 and what an amazing experience we had. From the moment we enquired about the trip, to departing Japan for home Bade looked after us ensuring we both had a very enjoyable and completely stress free time both on and off the bike. The tour was cycling focused but also enabled us to experience the great food and culture of Japan. Being fit cyclists but with very different climbing skills was no problem. Both of our needs were catered for, in fact Bade is the best ride leader we have ever come across making sure everyone was always safe but enabling people to really enjoy the amazing roads and all the climbing at a pace comfortable for them. Yes cycling tours can be expensive but we left Japan and Bade's Connect Sport tour feeling like we had gotten much more than our moneys worth and will definitely be booking again."

After a few big days, the riders can enjoy a later start and a shorter course. However, do not be fooled by the distance, as there are some real surprises in store for this short, sharp day over up and over the beautiful Venus Line and Kirigame Highland.
Climbing straight out of Matsumoto, the riders face a long climb on the southside of Utsukushshigahara through deep valleys and stunning gorges. With the hard part of the day complete, the riders will be rewarded with stunning views across the Venus Line and even to Mt. Fuji on a clear day. The ride undulates across the beautiful plateau and a fabulous location for the overnight stop at Lake Shirakaba.

154 km | 1500 m
After a nice short day, today is the longest, but by no means difficult. Rolling out of our lakeside lodge, we head off the mountain and begin our journey to Mt. Fuji. The road is smooth and fast until we meet the Fuji River where we make a turn south and follow the river down through the valley. Mt. Fuji on one side and the mighty Minami Alps on the other. Simply amazing riding and after 150km, we arrive at the south western corner of Mt. Fuji in the ancient and important town of Fujinomiya.

After a big day yesterday, today is a semi rest day with a superb ride taking us to the magical Shiraito Falls and Tanuki Lake, two of the most iconic images associated with Mt. Fuji. We head back early after soaking in the views for a chance to visit the Mt. Fuji Heritage Centre, a newly constructed tribute to the famous volcano and of course, a visit to the ancient temples and shrines that Fujinomiya is home to.

82 km | 2300 m
Today we follow in the footsteps of the ancient monks who used Fujinomiya as their resting place and base for their pilgrimage up to the summit of Mt. Fuji. While not exactly the summit, we will be heading for the end of the road and the lofty 2300m high Mt. Fuji 5th Station. With views to the ocean on a clear day, the climb is a solid beast, but well worth the effort. After climbing the majestic mountain, we head for Gotemba and our amazing accommodation where a good onsen will be well appreciated. One day to go!!
Saturday 2 October 2021
90 km | 1600 m
We have come from deep in the alps, crested some of the highest roads in Japan, tackled Mt. Fuji and now we come to the coast. A brilliant ride to finish the day as we head south along the rice fields, cutting in and out of the small villages and there will certainly be some surprises in store along the way.
We meet the coast after passing through ancient Shuzenji and up the final climb of the tour. We hit the coast at the 60km mark and weave in and out of the coves as we head for a stunning lookout point and a chance to dip our feet in the beautiful water. A short ride to our accommodation on the the coast and celebrations in store. Well done on completing the Alps to the Coast Tour!
